After a while of downloading time-lapse images from the raspberry pi server. It Froze! I went to check up on it and did a reboot… When I did the a power cycle I heard the somewhat close to the click of death! I did a few power cycles and notice it sounded normal in behavior as it started up but oddly it didn’t do anything else… So I assumed it was a stuck header on the platter. But after swapping another known working drive I figured that nothing was wrong with the hard drives.. I then went ahead and looked into the USB to IDE converter Circuit board… Nothing noticeably broken in that. I weirdly came up the idea that the USB cable might be disconnected in someway.. Wiggled the connectors.. O.O then magic! It responded back! wtf I tell myself.. How can a lose connector if its been running about 20 days without being touched at! As I understood today humidity was 92% and temperature was 59F +plus the fact dust was building up, Maybe that was a factor to why the connectors didn’t work so well.. Hehe possible ice was forming on it! But In all almost freaked out that the hdd died.. (But I have Spare ones)
Next time first check connectors before assuming it is dead! I mean it.. I took the entire harddrive downstairs and had to take it apart for debugging and turns out it was a really simple fix… Wiggle the connector or perhaps blow away dust the connectors! xD
Now to put it back together and resume operations! And back up the data as planned usually.. 2nd Website was down for a few hours….
Edit: Wow! it was multiple things… My computer had a faulty connection. While the raspberry pi was looking in the wrong port for the bootloader… Found out that my flashdrive on the raspberry pi caused it to think the flashdrive was the booter but nope… lol debug is fun ain’t it?
