My First Saltwater Battery

So on Thursday I decided to develop a Salt water battery because well… I thought it would be cool and plus I have all the things for it… However, it was a messy project apparently.. I had to revise 4 times before deciding that its the maximum power it can generate. Amazingly it works well. It has been running for 1 day now on a Joule thief circuit and It’s using paper towels to hold Saltwater.

How is this made you may ask? It’s quiet simple I used a Paper towel, Copper Wire, Aluminum Foil. and I made the Foil into a rod and wrapped Paper Towel around the foil rod and Wound the copper wire around the paper towel to hold it in place with the rod inside. Then soaked the entire battery into salt water. Then your Foil rod becomes negative voltage and Copper becomes Positive Voltage. There’s Voltage!! 😀

Question remains is what will happen when the water dries up… So far the results is that the Copper Wires are turning turning dark brown. It apparently reached peak voltage of 1.55 Volts. It continues to produce the same voltage range as it dries up. I’m not expecting it to do anything epic or anything its just a little experimentation on saltwater battery…

Hopefully I can make a saltwater jar battery.

A new project will be listed in Project about this with Photo/Diagrams/Plans.

Live Camera

The first live camera I’ve setup! 😀 it should work or else this maybe it’s blocked for you!

Refresh the page for updates. Update interval one minute.

I know it’s currently not in the best view. I don’t live in a fancy scenery area. It’s pointing at my window, and it’s looking up into the nice California sky! Not to mention the fact that the cable on the camera was just to short. Also mentioning this camera isn’t water proof so it has to be indoors. It’ll be pitch dark at night just saying. So hopefully this is cool! Maybe one day there will be a pretty scenery but I doubt it for now. But it works… Currently I’m saving every image to see what it’s like in time-lapse.

Bitcoin Pay-out

After 3 months of doing a bitcoin mining in slush’s pool for 3 months I finally reached received 0.01000062 BTC!

In current time was $3.59 USD which was eh pointless.. but yey I got bitcoin money

Since I wasn’t going to do much with it I might as well spend it on buying more GH/s on a different mining pool[cex.io trade/ghash.io pool](Shocking a place where you can spend bitcoin for more bitcoin miners! :O)..

$2 USD got me 2 Gh/s with the 4.8 Gh/s that has been running on the raspberry pi.. In total 8.8 Gh/s

Second Website

The second website is running from my server that is running 24/7 maintained by me. You may also realize that it says “Dawnter”, Dawnter is my Username online username I’ve been using for a long while now.. and its kinda also my online gaming website purpose… It is running minecraft server (I’m into minecraft[PC] also…) [dawnter.ddns.net:25565 << the server ip]

The server is currently used for my website, minecraft, bitcoin miners… and is partly powered powered by solar panels 10 Watt’s(9AM-11AM) to be exact… Below here is pictures of my server setup..

Notice all the wires? I did some modifications to make it run partly on solar panels… and plus this whole setup requires (0.8 HDD Amps+ 0.5 Raspberry pi amps + 1.2 bitcoin miner amps) * 5 volts = 12.5 Watt’s… Cool right? 😀

Oh the server also runs on a Raspberry Pi in Debian linux… ARMv6 Broadcom chip I think…  On overclock 1GHZ w/ aluminum heatsink… using an old USB IDE HDD…

So ya thats my server at home…

My Other Stuff

I’m possibly going to add a my gaming tab on this website because well there isn’t always much to say about what i’m doing plus there’s more pictures of my gaming stuff… just to make my blog less boring! If it isn’t boring to you, then you might want to ignore that gaming tab that will appear in the index… 😛

The gaming section is mostly about my gaming experience.. i may show my online friends to this website location… I will be posting anything game related into that section like Snapshots, Developments, Tutorial, Reference, Tips, Experience…

Also going to add a Project Section on my blog…

Working on the website today! 🙂

After Posting: Haha its also my 10th post on Oct 10th Funny!!
