My very first computer that I don’t use anymore turns into a home server!
My original server was running off a Raspberry Pi. However, when I moved, I had to upgrade to a faster computer to run some surveillance camera software. After a while, I ran other stuff on it.
Currently the server is around 8 years old when I first got it.
The S.M.A.R.T. Software is giving me a 3.8 years (33559 hours) of run-time on the hard drive that hasn’t been changed. (I’m very worried about the hdd because it currently showing bad sectors [gotta do those backups])
I’ve recently swapped the working power supply 300watts already-built-in with a platinum power supply 500watts (power efficient psu). I’m planning to do repairs on the 8 year old power supply, and I spotted one dead capacitor, but it still runs fairly quiet.
spec’s:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, 2.53Ghz, LGA 775, Wolfdale
RAM: 8GB DDR2
Motherboard: G33M02
Hard Drives Disk: Samsung HD251HJ 250GB; ST3500830AS 500GB; ST9500325AS 500GB
Power Supply: 500W Platinum Fanless PSU

Notes:
- I know the power supply is placed backwards (The Case Design).
- Cables are everywhere (They are too BIG!).
- Looks dusty (Yes, It is dusty in there.)
- A cricket was really somehow living inside the server computer for a while, and It naturally died in the server computer.
- It gets pretty hot inside the case running 24/7.
